Whatever you Desire it takes, Work, Faith, Productivity

“Without hard work, nothing grows but weeds.”–Gordon B. Hinckley
The difference in winning and losing is work. What we mean by action is the daily effort put into that which you seek. Whether it is a success in business, success in marriage, success in raising children or just being your best self. No matter the endeavor it all takes work!

prayer, faith, god,

Deciding to do anything to produce a result requires activity that produces productivity. Never confuse the two. Activity and productivity must be in concert with each other to have any success.

Organize each day with tasks that you must complete. Do not move past a function until you finish it. The worst thing is to multi-task during a job. Laser focus on achieving a task, then move on. Giving your full attention to the task at hand will create amazing results.

Use a task management system to lay out your day’s work. Finish! That is the key to productivity is to finish the task.

If you don’t want the weeds to grow in your life. Do the work at hand, have faith that what you endeavor to do is coming to pass.

When you begin the journey of changing your life. Many talk a good game, but few start the actual mission. Get off your butt today and let’s get moving.

happy, prayer, freedom

Baby steps to begin will help you gain momentum. Always have forward momentum. You will have struggles, own it! Just get moving.

Fear, doubt, all that will dissipate if you merely get moving. Start taking steps. Organize yourself, don’t confuse activity with productivity.

If you have questions:

Being Your Best, How to Get Started NOW

“Good, better, best. Never let it rest. ‘Til your good is better, and your better is best.”–St Jerome

Say that five times really fast! Ha Ha!

When I found this quote, it really hit me. In our journies, we strive to be our best. Those with passion seem to never rest in the pursuit.

What we learn along the way is forward momentum keeps our vision in sight of our goal. Whether you take a baby step today and a giant step tomorrow, it doesn’t really matter as long as the motion is forward.

Organize, calendar, tasks

Learning to organize your day into bite-size chunks will help. Get a calendar that you like to work with. Organize activities that you can begin and finish within an allotted period. This keeps you from getting to scattered. Activity vs. Productivity. We want production!

Map out a day from hour-to-hour. Don’t wing this get organized. If you do, success is coming. Being busy is just being active. Have clear and actionable tasks, complete the work before moving on. This is the difference between winning and the status quo.

Start today, now if possible. Procrastination is what other people do!

If you have questions:

Activity vs. Productivity

When we think about what it is that we’re currently working on. Is it an activity or productivity? Can we even decern the difference?

Too many folks confuse activity with productivity. The big difference between the two. Busy work is just that busy work. Rarely will that yield any sort of measurable progress?

success, self help, career

How can we decern the difference?

  1. Set measurable goals for the day. Plan out a few key things to get done the night before and focus solely on those tasks until complete.
  2. Don’t allow outside distractions deter from the task at hand. Turn off the cell phone,  email, and shut your office door, be out of pocket for this time.
  3. Organize the day the night before. Say from 9AM to 9:30AM I will complete this task and so on. Don’t stop until it’s done. When made a move on to mission 2.
  4. Don’t allow yourself to get distracted daydreaming. Focus on the task-at-hand.

Just because you think your busy does not mean you’re getting anything done. The previous sets clear benchmarks to achieve daily. This is the best way to assure results.

If you’re a team leader or manager. Set precise tasks in the same manner.

With just a couple of changes to your day, amazing progress can be made to propel you forward. Godspeed!
