Job vs.Your Choice Career

Are you in a job that you either hate or just it’s just a means to an end? Too old to think you can change telling yourself the cliche it is what it is!

Twenty-somethings this is a good article for you as well. Do you want to spend your life in a dead-end job or do something that you love?

career, dream job, passion

If you want to change the trajectory of life. Live life on fulfilling your dreams then read on.

The first thing it is never too late or too soon to figure out what you want to do to sustain your life.

Questions to begin:

  1. If time, money or education was not the problem what would you do?
  2. If age was not a limitation what would you do?

Take a moment and write down your answers. Give this some real thought.

Where most fail is self-doubt. You fail before you ever even try. Don’t start with the I can’t excuse. “Whether you say you can or can’t you’re right.”–Henry Ford

Don’t fall prey to old paradigms that have stalled your life. Whether young or old you will define your life by the actions you do or don’t take. Bad habits such as self-doubt can be overcome. It just takes a bit of practice.

Question 2:

  • How do you define success over your life? What does success look and feel like to you?

Take a few minutes to answer this question. There is no right or wrong it’s what you feel.

No matter what you wrote down your definition needs to be how you feel. Not influenced by others. Sometimes you have to take this journey on your own. A well-intentioned family may hinder your progress with negativity. Them saying you can’t is an opinion, not a reality. Same with close friends.

Making a major change in your life sometimes requires you to walk alone. Do not despair, spiritually you’re not alone.

As you come into your own, folks close to you will come around. Remember misery loves company so choose wisely whom you share aspirations with. Only bring into your life those that will uplift you!

Take time to think all this through, get very clear on your direction. Set a course and never look back! Godspeed.

Always Too Soon To Quit

We all get to a point where tired overcomes our being. Tired of all the enemies shots that come in follies that seem never-ending. One more kick and you’re going down! Today is one of those days for me. Looks like the top of the mountain was in site and now I can’t even see the top anymore.

summit, faith, God

When the clouds clear how close will you be? Never Quit!

I’m finding reasons to quit, aims to stop relationships, reasons to complain about work. All of which are not options to exercise. I know deep down that God is as close as my next prayer. At least now in my life, I recognize when an attack comes and why it comes.

Many times over the past days, I have felt that my soul is slipping away from God. That no matter how hard I try something is always going to kick me in the balls one more time. Dropping into self-pity and depression is too easy. This is where the enemy knows he has you, and he turns up the heat.

So in the heat of the battle of the mind, how do we stay in faith?

For me, it gets moment-to-moment. I literally have to talk to God all the time during my day. When the heat is on, it’s a hotline to God that day! Just let God know that I don’t see a way, I know he has an idea, and I am not losing this time.

Somedays I am emotionally exhausted the point to this is stay in the fight. The minute you give in the enemy has won. Don’t despair if you’re there at this moment. Let God know right now you’re grateful for strength. Pray for what you want, not what you don’t have. Big difference.

This is the best metaphor I can come up with in the battle over our minds.

Climbing a mountain to summit. Zero visibility all you can do is climb up, can’t see a thing. Step after step is pain, unimaginable pain. With the summit know where in sight. You continue to work through the pain. Until you THINK you cannot make another step, you cannot see the summit you collapse. In that moment of defeat, the fog clears, and the summit is a short 20 yards away, you could have made it if you kept going.

We never know how close we were if we stop. Marathon runners have to run through the wall in their mind. Somewhere close to the finish of a marathon, runners hit the wall as it’s called. You can collapse or run through it, choice!

Remember how we choose to deal with life is our choice. Blaming circumstances does not get it done. Perseverance and unwavering faith get it done. If you get knocked down get back up. Keep getting up!

Seasons in our lives are just that seasons. Have you lived somewhere that you can recall a super hot summer or a long cold, snowy winter? It’s a season it comes and goes. Same with our life. Seasons come, and they go. Happiness is closer than you think!

Pray like you’ve never prayed before and this season will pass.

Idle Time Sucks, Let’s Change That

Idle time sucks. Your head gets filled with garbage of the past and anything else the enemy can throw up to remind you of darker times. Thus keeping you in the darker reaches of your life. Hence idle time sucks. I want to share a couple of things I am doing to find peace during idle time.

Today for me is one of those days. I had good morning closing two new clients, so that had me bouncing on cloud nine. Always great to move forward in business.

Then the day grinds down to a halt. My head begins to run amuck. Wow, let’s relive every mistake I’ve made in my life. Reruns of my life seem to be on a projector that just loops and loops.

peace,happiness,

So, to get me out of my head. I said down with my laptop and started typing. At least I recognize what’s going on with my noodle. Question, why can’t we be okay during quiet times? So many of us struggle with being okay with being alone in our mind.

Yes, I have confessed my past that I am not proud of to God. When I’m busy everything rocks along, and I am to busy not to be at peace. Sometimes though it would be nice to be quiet, be in the moment but be okay. I am the problem in this scenario. We can choose to be happy or sad, but it must be a choice.

Today is also the first birthday I have spent in many years alone. Or at least without my wife. So, it’s been a good day for many reasons and a sad one. Reliving everything I have done, should have done, argh! No, not self-pity moment, but one of realization. Everything going on today is a choice. Recognizing that is the real achievement in my life.

Every day we all must make choices to be happy or have a bad day. The difficulty lies in your head. Living in your head causes all kinds of issues. Choosing to live in your heart, in your soul where God is now that’s a choice. A little easier said than done, but entirely within grasp.

What I do every day now is take moments to embrace God, search my heart for peace. I do this on my morning prayer walk at work. I walk outside for a time and talk to God. Visualize me happy, prosperous and at peace. Peace began to last longer and longer in my days. I don’t choose to recognize mediocrity in myself anymore.

Choose to walk in faith as I do every day. It truly helps, and you will begin to find peace in your head. Idle time will be something you look forward to not dreading. I pray you find the peace we all have from God. Have a blessed idle time day!
