Letting God Drive

Are you a backseat driver? Can you sit back and enjoy the ride, or do you have to continue to “turn here” “watch for that car” “it’s faster turn here?”

The hardest Christian decision I have had to make is “Let Go & Let God!” Faith in something that you cannot see.

You must learn to let God drive. Sit back in the car, shut up, do the work, stay in the word, pray,, and God will do his thing!

The Bible says:

Hebrews 11.1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Faith is hard when you cannot see God cheering you forward. It’s particularly tricky when results are not appearing. During these times, most will simply give up. Only to say all the God mumbo-jumbo does not work.

self improvement, self help, spiritual

Faith will be tested by the enemy with a relentless barrage of self-doubt, negative thoughts, and anything else that can be thrown at you. Important to note! This will pass. Your faith will be tested, and it will give if you stay in faith.

Can’t see the end, stay in faith. Can’t see hope, remain in worship. Can’t take another moment of pain, stay in faith. All of this will pass. Yes, it hurts at the time horribly. This is when you simply fall to your knees and let God know you don’t have anything left, it’s all up to him.

Do that with a sincere heart. Your life will change!

For those of you that read me, you know one of my favorite examples of faith. You quit that which you desire just moments before God had planned change. Example: You asked God for a dream job. The job God has in mind to give you is currently occupied by a beautiful person getting ready to enjoy a well-earned retirement. This person is a short six months away from a beautiful life.

You’ve been busting your fanny trying to find a dream job for some four months. No responses, nothing coming at all. God has moved your destiny into play for the job that will be vacant in just thirty more days. Your head is telling you that what’s the point five months of searching and nothing. A flat zero!

What you don’t know is that in just thirty days more. God is moving people, places, and things so that you get this dream job. The enemy is in your head, telling you it’s hopeless. You give in, and life passes you by again.

Staying in faith is damned hard. You have to believe as though there is NO other outcome other than you will have your dream job. Whether it takes one day or six months. It does not matter to you, it’s yours. No plan, B! Laser focused.

How do you stay this way, you may be asking.

  • Prayer that includes gratitude that you already have the job!
  • Meditate, see yourself doing the job. See yourself already working in the position you desire.
  • Stay in faith, even when you see NO way!
  • Throw any Plan B out the window! Plan B suggests your faith has a limit; ask yourself, does it?
  • Resources vs. Resourcefulness (Learn the difference, your life with rocketship to the moon.

Do the work; don’t sit on your ass and expect things to just come running to you. We all must do the job. Nothing comes for free.

Train yourself to see the outcome. Look towards that which you desire with affection, love, and the unrelenting knowledge it’s yours. Do it, and your life will unfold in ways you never dreamt!

Sit back and enjoy the ride, let God drive!

Dark Foreboding Clouds fill the Sky with Beauty at Sunset, What do you see?

“Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.”–Rabindranath Tagore

Perspective gives way to negative or positive thoughts. It’s our choice which side of the bench we sit on, positive or negative. Don’t give an idea to the negative even when that’s all you can see.

clouds, sunset, lake, mountains,

Negativity is a byproduct of the enemy wanting you to stay status quo. Yes, easier said than done. Many days I have to give to God, “I don’t see you, feel you, or understand why I suffer.” At this point, merely surrender to God, let him know that you believe he has a way when you can’t see a way out.

The quote is right clouds can add a beautiful picturesque color filled Sunset to the end of the day. A dramatic wonder of God’s creation.

Right now, I am working through a time where I feel apart from God. It’s not that I don’t believe, or have faith. It’s that at this moment, I need to quiet my mind and try to hear what God is saying. I am struggling through and keep letting God know I’m here.

Did you Pray Today

Praying as part of your everyday regimen. Did you pray today, why not? If you did well for you.

Why is praying daily so important?

  1. Great way to stay in faith.
  2. Take a moment to believe for what you want from your life.
  3. Keeps you in communication with God. Always a good thing!
  4. Being humble before God.
  5. Embracing the feelings of prayers being answered, showing gratitude.

Just a few in a vast list of reasons that prayer can and should be a part of your everyday life.

self help, love, faith

Letting God know you’re there as it were. I take what I call prayer walks in the morning times to simply talk to God. Funny note if people see me walking they probably think I forgot to take my medication, talking to myself.

God, knows when I am talking to him from my heart. It helps me start my day. Focused on what is essential. Then I simply let God handle it. Not always easy for me, sometimes I feel like he needs my help. Not so much!

If you let life unfold before you staying in faith, the blessings are immeasurable. For times when you think if you don’t jump in everything will come to an end. DON’T! Stay in faith even when you don’t see anything but a disaster. Let it play out, let God know you are grateful that he has blessed you with the answer, Even when you can’t see it yet.

This is why you pray. Stay in faith, be grateful for the answered prayer before it manifests and doesn’t beg. You don’t have to ask God for anything. For example, someone close to you gets horrible health news. Don’t ask God to save them, thank God that he did keep them. Pray for healing and restoration. Just don’t beg for it, you don’t have to beg!

You also don’t have to promise God; “If you just get me through this, I will never ____.”

Make prayer a part of your everyday life. If you have kids pray with them. Married, pray with your spouse. Most importantly make sure you and God stay connected.

God bless!

Always Too Soon To Quit

We all get to a point where tired overcomes our being. Tired of all the enemies shots that come in follies that seem never-ending. One more kick and you’re going down! Today is one of those days for me. Looks like the top of the mountain was in site and now I can’t even see the top anymore.

summit, faith, God

When the clouds clear how close will you be? Never Quit!

I’m finding reasons to quit, aims to stop relationships, reasons to complain about work. All of which are not options to exercise. I know deep down that God is as close as my next prayer. At least now in my life, I recognize when an attack comes and why it comes.

Many times over the past days, I have felt that my soul is slipping away from God. That no matter how hard I try something is always going to kick me in the balls one more time. Dropping into self-pity and depression is too easy. This is where the enemy knows he has you, and he turns up the heat.

So in the heat of the battle of the mind, how do we stay in faith?

For me, it gets moment-to-moment. I literally have to talk to God all the time during my day. When the heat is on, it’s a hotline to God that day! Just let God know that I don’t see a way, I know he has an idea, and I am not losing this time.

Somedays I am emotionally exhausted the point to this is stay in the fight. The minute you give in the enemy has won. Don’t despair if you’re there at this moment. Let God know right now you’re grateful for strength. Pray for what you want, not what you don’t have. Big difference.

This is the best metaphor I can come up with in the battle over our minds.

Climbing a mountain to summit. Zero visibility all you can do is climb up, can’t see a thing. Step after step is pain, unimaginable pain. With the summit know where in sight. You continue to work through the pain. Until you THINK you cannot make another step, you cannot see the summit you collapse. In that moment of defeat, the fog clears, and the summit is a short 20 yards away, you could have made it if you kept going.

We never know how close we were if we stop. Marathon runners have to run through the wall in their mind. Somewhere close to the finish of a marathon, runners hit the wall as it’s called. You can collapse or run through it, choice!

Remember how we choose to deal with life is our choice. Blaming circumstances does not get it done. Perseverance and unwavering faith get it done. If you get knocked down get back up. Keep getting up!

Seasons in our lives are just that seasons. Have you lived somewhere that you can recall a super hot summer or a long cold, snowy winter? It’s a season it comes and goes. Same with our life. Seasons come, and they go. Happiness is closer than you think!

Pray like you’ve never prayed before and this season will pass.

Faith Triumphs Again

Through fantastic faith, blessing comes. Of late I have been tested in my faith and struggling to let God guide my way. The good news for me is that I recognize what’s going on with me and don’t stress the way historically I have.

Pushing through, however, is tough. The lassitude this brings into my life is stifling. The aberrant lack in my life causes me more stress. Finding my way back to what is healthy for me is a struggle I believe we all suffer with.

Most importantly not losing faith, and hope, but staying in faith even when it seems out of reach. Circumstances overwhelm reason. If I don’t believe in a bad outcome and focus my attention to a happy resolution. This is the end of the field God plays on, and through our faith, his will shines through.

You can eat some not so good stuff if you get this cake at the end. Think about it!

What prompted me to write this article. Last night I was struggling through finances as I am sure you all do from time-to-time. Checking my email, I opened one from my credit card company with a new credit line increase. No, I don’t recommend living off credit cards.

My point to sharing the credit increase is the timing. I had let God know that I know he is working to bring the right jobs, the right new customers and my needs will be met.

Historically, I would be freaking out. Instead, I simply let God know I have faith in him to provide. I do the work every day, stay in faith, diligently do my job, I don’t sit on my duff and do nothing.

The increase came out of the blue; I had not asked nor applied for any assistance. In my heart, I believe God was letting me know he is there. This type of blessing happens a lot when I stay in faith. When I feel even though I can’t see any way out, I let God know that I believe he will pull me through.

God knows my heart; he knows my journey now includes him daily. Many times, my faith is tested where it would be easy to say “this doesn’t work, God does not listen to me.” It’s been my experience that when I do that things do get worse. When I believe all will be okay, then slowly but surely bumps in the road smooth out.

Somedays its big things and somedays you merely need to look for the smallest of miracles in your life. Big or small it’s a step forward. Be grateful at all time that God has taken the time to bless your day.

When you don’t see a way, this is when you have to trust that God is working behind the scenes to help you. Just because you can’t see any movement whatsoever does not mean that change is about to occur in your life. Stay in faith, as they say, this too shall pass!
