Life Try’s to Throw a Punch

Cleaning up the wreckage of the past. Mop bucket after mop bucket of old muck. It is enough to wear anyone out.

“I always like to look on the optimistic side of life, but I am realistic enough to know that life is a complex matter.”–Walt Disney

This holds true for me as I clean up old messes. What is more, it brings you right back to the place you left so long ago. Past garbage must be picked up even though you may have long since moved on.

Today was one of those days for me. The rug gets jerked right out, and bam, you hit the floor, saying, “what the hell was that?” At this stage, you can either get up, or you can wallow in the mire of despair.

It is hard but chooses to get up. Swift kicks to the gut hurt for a moment, but you can breathe again. Overnight, I was able to find my hope still. Messes can be cleaned up and moved past. Not allowing myself to fall into a pit of self-induced hell was an achievement!

Today these are steps I took to bring myself out of what could have been debilitating fear:

  1. Give it to God. I simply told God I did not understand why, but I was not going to lose faith in him.
  2. Took time to just breathe for a minute. Fear will stifle any hope. Sighing and taking a minute to say, “the world is not coming to an end, how do we fix this?”
  3. Keep telling myself repeatedly, “all is well, God has this!”
  4. Reminding myself that when all this began, I am a hell of a lot further today than I was when this all started. All for the better!
  5. Hope always exists, and for me, when I can feel hope in my heart. I know everything will be okay.

We all get life kicking us in the gut when we least expect or need it to happen. Rolling with it and having the expectation all will be well. Easier said than done, however, over time as we practice our faith. Moving with life becomes more natural.

Spiritual, Christian Life, hope

Feeling stronger as faith grows is something that happens. It took a long time for me to believe that my inner strength could be called upon to pull me through the toughest of times. Why, because I am not alone. God will stay with me through my tough times.

With all things, we must practice, practice, practice. Over and over, I say, “God has me.” As I write this, it occurs to me that I have been reading the bible and other Christian books more so than average. Perhaps I have stirred the enemy to throw his life stone at me to see if I will falter. Fall apart and lose what I have. Not this time!!!

Two years ago, I made a commitment that I would no longer lose in life. For once in my life, I intend unequivocally to not miss!

Covid-19 Social Distance Things to Do

Habakkuk 2:2 (ERV)

God Answers Habakkuk

2 The Lord answered me, “Write down what I show you. Write it clearly on a sign so that the message will be easy to read.

It’s incredible to me how much self-improvement information has its roots from the Bible. When reading Habakkuk 2:2, not only is God saying right down what you want. He is also speaking to create a Vision Board as well. Pretty cool!

life, hope, covid-19

As we all struggle to find our way of dealing with Covid-19. Now would be a great time as we all social distance to work on ourselves. Your mantra, “make me better.”

Here are some simple questions to get you started:

  1. If money, time, and resources were not the problem. What would I do with my life?
  2. Am I doing what I want to do in a career or what I must do? How could I change that?
  3. How could I bring a new me to all my relationships?
  4. Am I praying every day?
  5. Do I meditate every day?
  6. Am I taking care of my body, health?
  7. Am I living in faith?
  8. What kind-act could I reasonably do every day?
  9. Am I telling everyone in my life, “I love you” every day?
  10. Am I reading a book or doing something to educate myself daily?

Now is a great time to ponder our lives and begin to formulate a plan. Write down the answer to these questions or whatever comes to mind. In other words, turn off the TV stop binge-watching Game of Thrones and do something for you.

If you’re in a relationship, take time as a couple to do the same thing. What an excellent time to reconnect more deeply.

Instead of worrying about the world, take a moment to bring a better you back to the world. We all know that through the unlikely events we now face. At some point in time, we will move on. As Mathew McConaughey said in a video, “we’re all sitting at a red light that will soon turn green again.”

Remaining vigilant in this time, of course. However, while we sit around thinking of things-to-do. Let’s take some time for ourselves.

My challenge to you!

Go get a notebook, paper, whatever you can find. Begin to think of beautiful ways you can bring a better you back to the world. When we can all say, “thank God this is over.”

God’s Package Does Not Arrive Overnight

When you say a prayer earnestly and put faith behind the prayer. God, is packaging up your blessing and sending it on its way to you.

The key to receiving your blessing is not put a time limit on God. You can’t click overnight delivery while asking God for anything. But he does get your help moving; the real question is, will you be available when your package arrives?

prayer, faith, God, Jesus

Some answers come quickly, while others take time. Can you stay in faith long enough to receive the gift he has for you?

Something we never know is what God has to do way out in front of our lives to move the right people, right timing, proper resources, for our blessing to manifest. If we learn to have faith in our daily walk, do the work before us to allow our benefit to come.

What comes is always more than we imagined. Why? Because we stay in faith!

Of course, you cannot sit on your fanny and expect God to put the package right in your hands while you sit on the couch. Do what your heart tells you to do daily.

If you get enough prayers going, do the work before you. It’s imaginable that blessing will begin to come in all the time. How exciting!

The Bible says, “you have not because you ask not.” Begin to imagine the life you want where the money is not the problem, resources, education, connections are all not the problem.

Begin to believe God for everything you desire in your life. Walk daily in faith and begin to see your life change in ways you never thought possible.

For example, I had asked God to publish one book in 2019, just one. I published 8 in 2019 thank you very much. I did the work, and God put in my heart stories that I put to paper. I have already published 2 more books in 2020.

Remember, God does not run an overnight package service. What he does run is a miracle service if you do the work and believe.

  1. Start praying for the life you want!
  2. Write down these prayers and read them daily!
  3. Do the work before you. No matter how small a step you take, take action!
  4. Let God know that you believe with all that is you every day.

Do these few things every day. Don’t lose hope or faith even in the darkest moments of your life. It’s hard, but that mustard seed of faith can move mountains.

Never worry about how! God has you.

Proverbs Great Place to Begin

Proverbs 1 King James Version (KJV)

1 The proverbs of Solomon, the son of David, king of Israel.

2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding.

3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity.

4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

6 To understand a proverb, and the interpretation, the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Bible, Proverbs, Christian

When I learned about Proverbs for the first time and then began to study this book of the Bible. Everything in our lives that needs understanding can be found in the book of Proverbs.

Reading self-help books, all the information in these books can be found in Proverbs. When you read the book, you will correlate much of what you learn to books you have already read.

Reading the book of Proverbs will amaze you when your first read this book. Many versus you will have heard in some shape or form that you did not realize was a part of this fabulous book.

King Solomon wrote this as an amazing man. It’s been said that in today’s terms, he would be hundreds of times wealthier than today’s billionaires. The money let’s be clear Solomon always prayed for wisdom. Hence the book.

With knowledge comes power. Responsibly used and King Solomon even to this day is unmatched. He was a good man and a good King.

If you find yourself as I did a novice at understanding the Bible. Reading Proverbs opens a world that is filled with hope. When we understand life, we have the wisdom to progress our lives. Bounties begin to manifest in your life.

This was Solomon’s key to success in every aspect of life. Wisdom! Knowledge is power, this statement rings so true.

When you have the wisdom to withstand life adversity. You will plow through anything life throws at you. Understanding that challenges are seasons of learning, “this to shall pass.” We’ve all heard this saying.

If I could recommend any place to start in the Bible. My first choice would be Proverbs. The Bible is an excellent read.

A couple of suggestions, I enjoy the Message Bible and The Passion translation. For me, much easier to read than say the King James Version. Written more in today’s language, I was able to not have to stop and look up words while reading.

Vision Board and Goals

Amazing how the bible is filled with everything we believe in regarding self-improvement. You can find it all in the Bible. Proverbs is an excellent place to start if you want to test my theory.

Proverbs was written by King Solomon. Let’s just say in today’s terms, King Solomon’s wealth would make Bill Gates look like a pauper.

Vision boards! Read this bible verse pretty cool:

Habakkuk 2

2-3And then God answered: “Write this.

Write what you see.

Write it out in big block letters

so that it can be read on the run.

This vision-message is a witness

pointing to what’s coming.

From basically the dawn of time, folks like you and I have studied to improve their lives. Throughout history, self-improvement has been a part of the discourse for millions of people.

Something to be said for goals and having a vision board for visual reference.

Here are some fun ideas to create a vision board:

  1. Gather up pictures from magazines, the internet, with your goals and dreams. Don’t be shy. Remember, God flung into existence the Universe, so I think he can handle even your wildest goals.
  2. A poster board makes a great vision board. Glue your photos all over it in a collage. Then place the board in a prominent place so that you see it every day. Several times a day!
  3. You can also make a folder in your photos on your phone, vision board. Then save into these photo pictures that inspire you.
  4. It’s okay to have more than one board. Again, don’t be shy.
  5. Do work. If you just stare at photos and never act. Nothing will happen. Action must occur faithfully, diligently, and consistently if you ever want your vision to come true!

Vision boards are ever-evolving. As one goal is achieved, get a new one on the board.

John Assaraf, in the movie The Secret. He told the story of his son, asking him what his vision boards were for. He said to his son, “they are daddies vision for his life,” as he thumbed through the boards,  stopped to see a photo of a house that years before he put on a vision board. He had not looked at this board for a long time. He then realized the new home they were moving in was the exact house he had just purchased.

goals, self improvement, self help

He never put that together until he was unpacking boxes in his home. A picture of his dream house, he clips out of a magazine years before he now owns. Wow, what a fantastic story.

Last year I had not looked at my board for some time. Even lapsing reading my goals for a time. Yet, I endeavor to not miss a day. Reading my own goals, I paused when I read the one that was to publish my first book in 2019. It dawned on me at that moment, I published seven.

Vision boards and written goals work!

The key to success with your goals is action. You cannot sit on your ass and expect the world to feed you. Get off your duff and get working. Small steps, giant steps, just move. Forward momentum with a plan will open up your life to incredible heights.

The life you want to have. Put in front of you every day. Let God know. Remember what it says in the bible. You have not because you ask not—James 4:2

Give it to God, vision yourself with what you ask. Do work. See your life manifest into abundance, peace, hope, and love.

I found this and love it, for those of us that need creative help..lol…
